So one of my kids wants to learn arcade history.....

My oldest daughter has shown allot of interest in the rise and fall of arcades/games. I wanted to show her a video that I saw but can't remember the title or where I saw it. Can anyone post up some links to known videos that contain the history? There was a good one posted on here way back that took place in another country,I want to say england maybe? It was a news documentary of some sort. I can't seem to find any of the videos I have seen in the past for some reason.

Special when lit is a really good one, also Tilt: The battle to save pinball. King of Kong is good too, although that isn't about the history, she may get a kick out of seeing one mans quest though to break a record, I know I did.

Those first two you mentioned are about pins. She has interest in games only so I need a vid that has just that.

You should also check out G4TV's Icons aka Game Makers and they have a whole episode on the video game crash. Good luck finding it though.

Special when lit is a terrible documentary. The fact that pingeek idiot got face time is all you need to know to avoid it.

Tilt on the other hand is excellent. Well worth picking up the DVD set for the extra interviews.

It's not a video, but I got my start reading, Slot Machines and Coin-Op Games, by Bill Kurtz. I used it for a book report in 5th grade. He has a few other books which are friggin' awesome. I don't think he has anything that covers the 90's or 00's, though. Still some neat books for pinball/EM stuff.

Um, how about a BOOK or two, rather than encouraging a kid sitting in front of a TV/youtube?

Phoenix: The Fall & Rise of Video Games
The First Quarter: A 25 Year History of Video Games
