So My Friend Wants a "SPECIAL" Mrs. Pac Man...

So my friend wants Mrs. Pac Man table top. No problem... But then he starts talking about how he wants the version where she moves FASTER?? Can out run the ghosts?? I had never heard of that.
Are there two versions of the game?
Is it a Dip setting?
Is the 60 in 1 boards (which I would prefer since it is newer and I won't have to fix it later) any different for speed?

So I am in the market for parts to a table top Mrs Pac man right now if anyone has any in the MN area.

Yes there is a turbo hack... You hold down the player 1 start button to activate it, I think.

He just wants the speedy pac. Its a simple rom swap on a dedicated board. If your board doesnt have it, just ask someone here for a swap. Riptor can probably help you there.

The 60-1 has both versions of Pac, Ms. Pac and Jr. Pac, and also has both popular versions of Galaga. The 48-1 has both also but you need to go into menu settings to change speeds on that one.

Rom swap eh?
That might be the way to go. He doesn't really know what he wants other than Mrs Pac, Table Top and Faster!
LOL!

Again, anyone with something here in the MN area let me know.

Mine actually came with the "speed hack" 6f chip installed, I got the "normal" 6f chip from Riptor, kept the speed hack chip in case I get bored and want to revert.;)

The 60-in-1 boards have dip switch setting for fast mode for all the pac-man games - and there are tow copies of mrs pac-man, pac-man , and a couple others so I usually deliver the second set all set on the fast setting with hearts instead of dots so you can play original version or fast version

There are a few variations of this hack floating around.

The "best" in my humble opinion (and most polular?) is the ROM swap hack. Rom chip 6f on Pac or Ms. Pac gets replaced. Check out my post in the following thread for the ROM image: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=177759

This hack simply makes Ms. Pac or Pac-Man go a little faster than the ghosts. It makes the game more fun, and makes the overall scoring potential higher.

There are other hacks that involve buttons, sub-boards, holding the 1-Player Start, and even a 4x hack that makes the game darn near unplayable. Again, in my opinion, they all pale in comparison to the "real" 6F ROM hack.

This is what I am talking about! Great info! So this rom hack is only good with a mrs PAC man PCM? Correct? Not for a multiboard.
