Misc - Other So many games and parts for sale. AKA, documenting my first raid!

Unreal.

I got a cab and several monitors from a former op's estate auction in north Georgia a couple of years ago. He was also storing stuff in cargo containers. Not a whole lot of water/moisture damage, at least on the stuff I saw, but I can promise you there are some old rodent nest discoveries in your future...

This is an epic fail I don't think you should be allowed to post on klov anymore. I don't get why the moderators haven't banned you! So much stuff there crazy that must of been a lot of fun to see all that.
First off…. How dare you 🤣

Second…. Before my account is locked by mods… I was mainly there to facilate the introductions and pleasantries. But as Tasty and others have mentioned, it was a bit overwhelming too! We would see something and be like, well I want that… but do I really want to move 15 things to get it out right now? There was a lot of "Let's revisit this". Then my adhd would kick in, I'd see something else and completely forgot what I was considering 3 minutes earlier in unit #4. I was mainly looking for parts for existing projects.

And yes @DonPanetta Why would I turn down a free Yoke for my troubles? Tube was busted that it came off of. The very next week I went to tube swap the Cave 3koam K9 project and that yoke was slightly too narrow. So, boy was I glad I took the yoke.

Overwhelming enough that I imagine both gawkers and seller weren't quite sure what the next step would be.

Maybe...
-Inventory list
-@GothGirl 's genius price guide
-Set up transport and arrange meeting dates
-Make offers with $ in hand and exchange funds
-Run home with a shit eating grin on one's face
I've talked to the owner about it this since then. We haven't sat down to do it yet, but we discussed starting with tubes, chassis', and everything that goes along with that. But just haven't made the time to do it. I have a feeling it's one of those things… it's overwhelming to start because it's so daunting. But once the ball is rolling…..

@bobbyb13 , we may have solved your Hawaii inventory problem. I'm pretty sure the containers float. Just gotta figure out how to get one of these trailered a couple hours west and then dumped off the Pismo pier with an Evinrude strapped to it.

On a more serious note... do you have a recent quote for 40' container shipping from Long Beach or Oakland to the islands?

If you start with small stuff, I'm looking for a good condition Atari over under coin door.

It has been awhile since I was dealing with these working for Surftech but it was about $8k for a 40ft one from Santa Cruz to Honolulu door to door after dealing with all the Jones act crap.

The way the world has gone since then it could be half that or twice that this year!

Would be rad to single-handedly restock the island but all my big $$ are tied up into the homestead for a while.

Doesn't look like anything Id be interested in, but I'm excited to follow this thread in case any more details come out. What a find!

Good thing i was wearing my super capacity diaper when i clicked this thread. Thats awesome..... I want neo geo mini marquees haha.

Sorting and selling a lot this size would be a Herculean effort by any standard.

I was involved sometime like this (as a lowly collector/purchaser ) about 15 years ago.
Some very "ball-zy" fellow Canadian found a OP in North Carolina who had 150 games in 2 warehouses
and wanted to sell everything in one lot.

The deal got done, three 40-foot semi-trucks drove 1500 miles from NC to Toronto
and 80+ collectors congregated in an industrial parking lot during a summer week-end in Toronto to claim their loot.
I had rented a U-haul truck to get several games back to Ottawa for many local collectors .
We had guys that flew-in from Europe !

It was an absolutely incredible story, but it took MONTHS of planning
and only succeeded because everyone was willing to meet in one spot at one time
to pick-up all the games.

I love stories like this !
