I hear this all the time on here when talking about games with a Steering Wheel and how it needs the "Pot" replaced. Probably a simple answer, just for the life of me I have no idea what it is.

Short for potentiometer. generally look like a big knob in control setups. Much, much smaller ones are located on monitor chassis and many PCBs. values are all over the place on these depending on where they are located.

It's also something you cook food in.

Pots rarely go bad, you'll most likely have to do a cap kit first. They look like this.

What would the Pot be like for fixing a sterring wheel problem on a game? I seen a game for sale where the Pot for the sterring wheel is bad and needs replacing.

Most common is similar to the first one shown on the wikipedia site.
But really need to know the exact game to be for certain which variation of it it may have.
