I know I'm supposed to show discipline. I know I should just hold out for the right game. But, I'm jonesing. And I have a weird fascination Yie-Ar Kung Fu! It's soooo damn hard!

3 hour drive. Yay or Nay

$50 Yie-Air Kung Fu

Pic shows monitor looking a little wonky.

Side sticker is peeling off.

Was there ever a dedicated version of this machine?

Remove your link or someone else will pick it up before you can get there.

Price is good although I wouldn't drive 3 hours for that.

For $50 working game that you kinda like. I say heck yeah. :D Get on the road man!

I like where your head is at!

How do you like your Die Hard Arcade? One popped up a few weeks back locally on CL, but I wasn't ready to pull the trigger on anything. Kind of regretting it. I've always been a huge fan.

Just remember that you will spend more on gas than the game costs. Also, CL deals can be flaky. You can show up and the deal has changed or the game is sold. Chances are that will not happen, but if it does and you are 5 minutes from home, no problem. If you drove 3 hours, you are going to be pissed. I guess what I'm saying is that if you wait long enough, $50 - $125 games will show up close to you and more often than you think. Any game that has a working board and monitor for $50 is worth it if you are willing to do some work. Good luck in your search.

It is a friendly place, but it is never a good idea to post a link to a deal you were thinking about getting. You can't expect all the thousands of members of a public forum to adhere to an unwritten code of honor.

That's lame, I thought this was a friendly place! :)

Haha. The regular members are likely not the ones to worry about. It's those 'guests' that are questionable ;)

Good call.

I've got serious issues. I'm now researching Pinball Machines...Tomorrow I'll be researching the housing market...because I'm going to need a bigger one!

And I hope you have a understanding wife, if your married. lol
My wife of 33 years just gave up fighting it after 20 years of buying and selling.

Charger, Bro ... just went through your photo bucket. Your wife is my new idle. She must be a badass, because you sir, appear to be a handful!

Do you own an arcade? Or is this just a hobby?

Couple things...

(1) The "current user" list is a 30 minute window.
(2) A good percentage of the "guests" that browse this (or any) forum are bots...

But yeah, never a good idea to post about a game until it's in your hands... and if you do... never go in to details.

You should definitely wait for a game that you actually want. That's part of the fun. Don't just hoard crap.

Yeah that game is not dedicated, that was originally a Stern cabinet and it was converted to that, not saying its a bad thing, but hold out for the right game. It took my almost 6 months to find my first machine, Berzerk, I was finally able to find one that was on the way to my parents house, got a great deal on it too.

Try to hold back a little, something you like better will show up closer eventually or you can at least find a cabinet in need of a game and buy the boardset for it.

Like others have said, that's a long trip for a CL deal. The sellers on there tend to be less dependable than folks on eBay and you don't want to drive that distance only to find the owner not home when you get there or even worse, sold it out from under you.

There was a CL deal in town about a year ago for a game that was popular enough for folks to drive a long distance to get it. He ended up selling it at least several times without telling the other buyers. It was a ten minute drive for me, so I picked it up early the next morning.

Got on KLOV to post pics and tell about the deal only to find out someone from several hours away had PayPal'd the guy the night before and had arranged to pick it up.

I told him to hold off on the trip until talking to the guy since it was sitting in my house at the moment and I didn't think the owner had a second one. So, of course, the other buyer was pissed at me for thinking I had bought it out from under him, even though I knew nothing about it (his deal with the guy).

I'm assuming that the seller refunded the PayPal, but it was still a dirty way to do a deal. Especially if the other guy would have ended up driving a couple of hours over, only to find it gone when he got there.

This is pretty smart advice, but I wonder if anyone has ever done it. ;)
Pretty much everyone goes nuts and grabs everything that becomes available until they start burning out from project overload or run out of space.

I know I did it for like two years, then started selling off stuff to make room for the stuff I really wanted.

PS: I like Yie Ar Kung Fu, but I don't think I ever made it past the 4th round.
