So I'm Proabaly Getting a Divorce and Moving to Arkansas. Any Klovers around?

Hey all,

As the subject stated I'm most likely getting a divorce and moving away from Colorado for a job in Bentonville Arkansas to regroup. Any KLOVERs in that area? It would be cool to meet some of you guys as I will know no one out there lol. That and I will need help moving a couple of the games I'm planning on keeping lol. Let me know. I look forward to meeting you. :)

Does anyone on KLOV know how to be married? Ive noticed that the biggest reason people leave this hobby is because of divorce.

If you are unhappily married, please post your name here so we can keep count.

Hey, I found this place while rebuilding my life after a divorce so I offset the count by one...

I wasn't the one who wanted out and I was happily in it. We lasted about 15 years married and 20 together so I think we gave it a good run lol.

If you are unhappily married, please post your name here so we can cheaply buy the games you will have to sell when you divorce.

There are a few of us. I've been surviving 30+ years of marriage with the same woman, so it can be done. It helps a lot if you both have hobbies you can participate in together. I help her with her hobbies and she goes out on warehouse raids and parts swaps with me. Did one on Sunday to pick up some Ebay "winnings" from a local KLOVer.

Sorry about your situation, hope everything works out ok. The only advise I can give is Stay the hell out of Arkansas. Stay as far away as you can!!

That and I will need help moving a couple of the games

You should'a sprung that tidbit on them later.

As for marriage - I've been married 14 years this October. We were together for about 4 years prior to that, and I was married at 26 years of age. She was 22.

If our marriage ever ends, I won't get married again, evar.

Just no way no how.

Dude you have my heart felt sympathy. I'm on my second and god willing last marriage. You're a good man my friend - god speed where ever you go.

I can't say I've been married, and I don't want to tell you how to live your life at all, and I also don't know your story, but fifteen years is a long time man. Sorry to hear about that.

Same here - I was on RGVAC on Usenet when my worthless cheating ex left me and I simultaneoulsy bought 38 arcade games and pins.

She left me, the guy she ****** in a parking lot 30 minutes after meeting him never wanted anything more to do with her and neither did I, and I built a 20x30 arcade shop for the games.

Fast forward a year, I meet a new woman who is OK with games (and even wanted Centipede UR for her wedding gift from me to her) and since we had a big (think Brady bunch) combined family we sold some of the games, got a down payment and bought a house and got married.

Been happy ever since even though now I'm down to 12% of my original collection. Wonderful wife, wonderful kids who have all taken up the arcade gauntlet in their own collective ways (including a 5 year old who loves classic arcade games and pinball up to a 28 year old who plays Pin*Bot and laments our poor dead High Speed) all of which would never have happened in the last marriage to a worthless harridan.

Take it from me, guys, unless she's got something no other woman has (this does not exist) - if she says it's your hobby or her, stick with the hobby. There are other women. You'll always regret giving up something you love and an arcade game won't **** another guy, they don't have a vaj.

And a woman - or man - your significant other - would never ask you to give up something you love, if they truly love you and the thing in question won't kill you. That's a fact.

You know what that is?

My wife and I have been married for 11 years now - 6 more than my previous waste of time ex wife was able to stay sane.

What you're saying isn't that the two of you need hobbies you can both enjoy - what you're saying is the two of you enjoy being together. The hobby is secondary.

My wife and I have a mere 2500 square foot house (downsizing after the kids mostly grew up) and I work from home - we're here together 24-7 and STILL like to spend time together outside the house on weekends! We do things away from each other, too. But I feel the real measure of love is to find someone you like to be in the same room with all the time and if you fight or argue, you want to fix it and make up (both of you) to get back to being happy and in love.

Icing on the cake if she likes your hobby (cars, sports, arcade games, toys, etc).

...and an arcade game won't **** another guy, they don't have a vaj.

True! But they do have dildos. :D

The Mrs. and I will be celebrating 19 years next month.

Oh, and BTW: Don't buy a house up there in NW Arkansas. You'll spend forever and a day trying to sell it. I know a guy that had his house on the market for 2 years and just gave up. He commutes to Dallas every week for work.
