So I think I may have gotten my first *deal* at an auction.

So I picked up a pretty nice working dedicated Dragon's Lair II for $400 with additional Dragon's Lair LD's and Space Ace LD's (I think). It was after an auction where the guy had a buddy shill bid for him and sold none of his machines. I was outbid on almost every machine I was bidding on instantly. After the auction, I was standing around waiting for my friends truck so I can pick up a change machine I won for $20 and while I was talking to another guy about swapping parts for the change machines, the owner comes up to him and says "Did you want to make a deal on some of the arcades?" I followed him and let the other guy go first and then shot him an offer and took the DLII home. So was it a Deal or no Deal? Post pics in a little bit.

I hate shill bidders. I see that stuff all the time on ebay, when you look at the bid history.

Where's the pics????

Well you obviously where at the auction. The guy I was with afterwards wanted the MKII but since I set precedence with my offer he wanted $400 for it and the guy declined. Then sold him those cranes for $100 a piece. Apparently the seller got hammered with fees for all the items he had his buddy shill on.

well i paid what I felt was a good deal on everything I got..Its just sad, I had $750 dedicated cash with me just for dl2..I had a feeling from talking with him he would be the shill (not 100%) but I knew it was in effect after he upbid the cranes... I didnt even bother on anything else. Integrity and honesty go a long way in my book and they were absent at this auction.. oh well, you never lost what you never had i guess.

I totally agree. When they were auctioning off the boats/vehicles my buddies and I popped off into the garage to see the neon. They were just bringing it in and when one of the guys helping carry neon started bidding on the first arcade I knew he was a shill. Oh well. I was honestly pretty pissed. They even shilled the neon. I was going home pissed but ended up getting really lucky. Was at the right place at the right time.
Hell I didn't even stick around to get the keys for the cab because he was BSing with some guys. Ended up that my keys for APB worked on the locks though. Off to recap the monitor and fix the eject on the LDP.

well at least she went to a good home. I wanted that neon also but :(..I didnt bother with my keys either. just wanted to get the heck outa there.. oh didnt the spotter look like an old will ferrell? lol

Nice, that was that Kraft auction... I was planning on attending that, but forgot I had planned an away weekend with the wife... so a no go for me. That was a great buy, heck I would give you the $400 for it and come pick it up. Congrats!

That DLII is a great score for that price, especially working. That specific disc player almost always had broken doors. Luckily, those players can work even if they're ugly. Side art looks great, panel's not thrashed....you scored, especially if you also got a DL and SA disc too.

DLII should keep you busy for a while, it's a tough game to master. The animation is great though.

Heh yeah guys kinda a creepy half wit. This is my second experience with Kraft. I was at a crazy 4 ring estate auction up at the fair grounds in crown point earlier this year. Just from what I've seen and heard from friends the Kraft crew is a pretty crooked bunch.

Thanks. The door broke off but the tray doesn't open when I hit eject. The disk winds down but it never ejects. Also after further inspection for some reason
both extra disks are Dragons Lair.

You got a great deal. You'll have to take the cover off and lift on the tray to get it to eject. Pretty common on those LD players.
