There are some issues. Help me out here....do I bitch about this or just figure it out on my own?

Apparently they do the grey after gluing the inserts. Makes no damn sense to me. This is why.

*sigh*

and yes, my right outlanes are not centered in the art just like the others.

I would just lift the primer with the point of an exacto knife. The way its glooped on there it doesn't even look like it's gonna stick.

The misaligned front is more troubling to me since I have another Pinbot reserved with them. I just have to keep in mind that when its together and playing great, that stuff probably won't be very noticable or that big of a deal.

We tried prodding it with one of those precision mini flathead screwdrivers las night. Its hard and stuck. Its down in the insert pretty good.

Hate to say it but for 700$ such a simple error is kind of embarrassing. I want the repro Pinbot too but I may not sign up for it if i cant get this resolved fast and cleanly.

Forgive my noobness here, I don't follow the pin threads as much. But I do have the complete Pinbot series. What playfield is this, Is it from CPR, and why the hell would they put primer on the back of the field? Everyone I've ever seen is bare wood.

What's this about a Pinbot playfield?

Its Space Shuttle. Originals were grey painted on the back so they did the same. They just should not have done it after gluing inserts or been more damn careful. Without some way to get this paint out of the insert, honestly i consider this playfield a second.

Looks like a second to me. I agree; they should be embarrassed for letting that get shipped to the customer. I was planning to get a High Speed playfield whenever they are ready, but I think I will just replace my machine with one with a great playfield someday. For the price of those playfields, they better be perfect.

Honestly if they can provide me a way to get it out its not that big if a deal. Everything else looks really good. I would accept some instructions and them refunding me 50$. :p

I might consider a new Pinbot PF, just because the inserts on mine are raised around the satellite, and a few other areas. Makes for some interesting slow ball action. Over all my PF is in good shape.

I did have an issue with the Mini playfield plastics for Pinbot though. It's much thicker than original that's a plus, but the holes for the ball drop ramp are to big, and you have to use a much larger rivet, as well as longer.

$700 is more than I spent on the whole machine.

Yeah I hear you. Makes it almost absurd to consder for me since I got mine for 200$. Lol!

I do intend to keep it for a long time though and lets face it...i could flip that game as-is for enough money to cover the whole price of the playfield and what i paid. :)

"David must have been getting tired that day! A little too much grey on the roller.

Don't use any liquids. It peels/shreds off the plastic with a dental pick type tool. It's pretty rubbery once you pick at it.

Hope this helps.

Really. Where the hell am I supposed to buy that? :p

Say great sounds good, when will you be sending me one of those?

I really don't have the energy to put up a proper fight over something that's probably going to amount to an easy fix. I've worked 73 hours this week..... I feel the same way you do about these things...that they should've been caught at production, but from what I can tell the whole of CPR is less than a handful of people. It's not like it's Stern.

I shouldn't have expected any different, that's where the error was. Some guy on RGP did say that his EBD playfield from them had same issues and dealt with it pretty much the same way, so I'm pretty confident that I can take care of it.

Just frustrating. Was kind of hoping for them to refund a bit for my trouble...oh well. Maybe I'll ask for a discount on the Pinbot playfield or for them to at least hand pick one that's not jacked up..

That sucks, you lay down that kind of scratch you expect it to be perfect or at least close. You can find the dental pics at Harbor Freight.

dental picks are available at a GOOD hobby shop, hardware store, etc...

A little dissapointing seeing that though, that's for sure.

From experience, the sooner you deal with it the better. Over time, that paint is just going to cure even further and be more difficult to remove.

+1 for my wife, apparently.

She mentioned hobby shops too. Good to know about Harbor Freight, I'll be going there in the morning. I've been meaning to buy some deep sockets anyways.

If I can't get it taken care of tonight, I buy.... ZE PEEKS!

Save your money and break out a hair dryer and some superglue...

If that grey paint is latex, you can soften it with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, even if it's cured.

Use a q-tip to apply.

Should have zero effect on the insert or the insert glue.
