So, how much would you pay for a Dedicated Major Havoc?

An acquaintance of mine has a nice dedicated Major Havoc, at first I didn't know what the heck it was and I thought the cab looked weird, and since the monitor didn't work I never thought anything about it... until I found out how rare and desirable the game is.

I've done some searching on here and there's a wide range of prices mentioned when looking on these forums historically, so I am wondering what the fair market value would be on one today in nice condition, both fully working and one not working but complete.

Anyways, I've read some people say $3K, some $4k, etc, so I'm asking- for those interested in the game, what would you pay for a nice MH in nice shape? I'm sure the owners of these games are going to say on the higher end, while the people that would buy one would be lower or more realistic... so let's see what the consensus is.. after all, this is the main grail for a lot of people, right?

$1000 or less is probably more realistic. I'm not into the dedicated cabinet so my value for it would be considerably less. I prefer the Space Duel conversion but the Tempest one would be fine too.

I paid $550 for my tempest conversion (fully working) but would consider 2k(or more) for a dedicated.

(also just bought the roller for $130 to put in the tempest)

$2000.

This is one of those games that most owners won't sell no matter what, which makes most people wanting one willing to pay alot. As with anything, it's all about finding the right buyer to match up to the right game.

My friend had a really nice one that he sold for $5000. But the guy had alot of money and didn't really care. He just wanted the game.

The dedicated is very cool, but if I could get a minty conversion for around $1200 or less I wouldn't pay a premium for a dedicated cab.

That said I wouldn't hesitate to grip and flip a good condition one.

If you're looking for a payday,go the ebay route. If you're looking to make decent money and have the knowledge that it will likely be taken very good care of,sell it here. If you want a mixed bag of weirdness and uncertainty, put it on Craigslist.

LOL, so true

I guess a conversion cab would be fine, but the dedicated MH would be the ultimate "brag" factor I guess?

Wow, that sounds fun! Craigslist here I come!

I believe around $5K is the going rate. As far as how much I would pay? Maybe about $500

Just to confirm, your friend's cabs look like these right?

this is one of those games that does have a following but really, to get the "good" prices out of one you have to find the right buyer.

with the market as depressed as it is at the moment i wouldn't be surprised to see one in nice shape to for under $2k.

personally, would only buy to resell and wouldn't pay more than maybe $500-$700. then i'd stick in the money into a Quantum which'd go straight into my collection to never leave.

I'd maybe go $1500 - $2500 depending on the condition of the cabinet etc... the game is cool but to me it is never $3k cool.

Yep, that's it. But you are saying it should sell for $5K, but I'm not seeing that so far...

I wouldn't, gotta say I love vector's but after playing this I'm not that impressed, I could pick ten vector's I'd rather have.

Its a 2.5k-3.5k game, those that say 5k are those that cant afford the game and wants to raise the price so others cant get it to. Have they sold for 5k, yes, several years ago when it was a great time to be a seller. Also, you have to find the person that has more money than brains. But a good fair price would be about 2.8k at this time. Non-working, 1.5-2k

Ive turned them down at 3.5k in its heyday of high prices, bcause one member on here reneged on a deal after he offered it to me for 3k. when i said in a email later that day that i would take it, he said he changed his mind and now wants 3.5, so i told him no.

I don't think I'd ever pay that much for any game, even if very rare.Unless the asking price is ridiculous,MH will always have buyers.

I wouldn't pay it, but I am pretty sure the average going price for a nice dedicated Major Havoc would be $3500-$4000 or so. Of course, the price would be less if the monitor is not working.

Keep in mind that I have never payed more than $100 for a game.

If you collect rarity and are particular about condition havoc can easily hit 4k plus. I have standing offers over that for my machine, so anyone telling you 500 or some goofy price is probably not going to be remotely interested in one to start with.. They are not a tough sell at all, just won't sell HERE. It's cool to say you wouldn't pay XXX for it because you're not interested but that really has zero bearing on the actual value of one as there are plenty of folks that would love to own one. I wanted one for a long time before finally getting it, just one of those machines that have a really strong following and not often for sale at any price.

As always with rare stuff, condition is everything. You can get a strong 2k for a beat one, 5k for a near perfect one (yes, even in today's supposed down market).

Exactly. Standing offers are usually overstated and often don't pan out when it comes time to cash in.

I can say this, I think the market for dedicated MH is extremely small, so although the value is high it could take a while to find a buyer even at $2k or $3k.

If it's in nice shape you can sell one for 3k with a few phone calls.

ill pay 2k right now for a working dedicated MH
