So how do you adjust an Asteroids picture?

My asteroids has the wells 19v2000 monitor.

I set the contrast to around the halfway point on the pot and turned the brightness down as low as possible so you can still clearly see everything.

the asteroids are sort of dim, the spaceships are bright and the laser beams are VERY bright

everything leaves a very slight glowing phosphor trail behind it as it moves across the screen. is this normal?

i already did a full cap job on the monitor

I've extensively fiddled with the contast and brightness, it seems that turning the contrast knob clockwise makes it so the brightness is adjusted lower.

also, i checked the voltage to the tube and it is correct.

thanks

I adjusted mine the same, I turned the both the contrast and brightness up so it was real bright and lot's of traces showing up, then both one at a time quickly down till I couldn't see the vector traces and dot's from them, worked great all the objects are plenty bright but not too bright, I do have some phosphor trail that's easier to see in the dark but I think it's a very cool effect so I'm leaving it and I'm happy with it.
