So happy I could cry... Just fixed my first arcade game issue!!!

My "Frogger" has had no sound for the last week or so, after previously working fine. I know nothing about fixing games, but figured I'd give it a shot. Pulled the cabinet out, opened the back door, figured out which piece was the game board, figured I'd just push gently on a few chips and sockets in case something was loose, closed the door, and hit the "credits" button on the coin door, and Voila!!! Heard the start-up sound effect for coining up, hit the one-player button, and heard the familiar cutesy music and sound fx good as new!!! I know it's not much, but hey, it's a first step for doing my own repairs, and a nice confidence-booster.

Just thought I'd share!

Ya, I know how you feel. I would always (and still do) get excited over every fix I did. But don't worry, you never stop getting geeked over a "first" fix. I just did my first cap kit and when I put it all back in place it was a sweet picture. It took me 30 or so minutes to calm down and loose the wood.

You would be surprised at how simple some repairs can be. My Turbo Outrun was down due to the same issue. Over twenty years of on/off heat and cooling periods had pushed a few chips out of their sockets, along with a little oxidation. Easy fixes are great and I'm always thankful when I have them!
