So did Major Havok come in a 720 cab? School me on this

Ok so I possibly am getting a Major Havok...the owner claims he is the original owner and its a dedicated cab...I was perplexed when I saw it...I doesn't look like a conversion but it looks like a 720 cab to me...klov.com shows this version of the machine in pics...

price check anyone? any more info available?

That is an absolutely beautiful Major Havoc cabinet. It is definitely in the original dedicated cabinet as well (similar but not quite the same as 720). I hope you have major cash, though. If the one in your picture looks just as nice in person and is 100%, expect to pay $4000 or so for it. Possibly even more.

One little-known fact is that Major Havoc is actually the greatest arcade game of all time.

very interesting. Ok good to know its a dedicated cab. As I said, he's the original owner and its obvious that this thing has never been in an arcade. He said he was told it needs the rectifier board repaired but wasn't sure how to obtain one. I'm hoping I can pull this off

Please post pics if you end up getting it. I have never seen a dedicated Major Havoc as nice as that one.

$4K? The last one that was up on Ebay I think had a hard time at $3K. Perhaps it's the economy? but I wouldn't expect $4K.

Return of the Jedi and I, Robot also came in that style cab with minor differences. 720 is much larger than the other three to accommodate the 25" monitor (the others have 19".)

we had a person locally with a dedicated MH and a similar problem (bad board in the monitor) trying to find someone to repair it but everyone seemed to want to buy it and he was refusing to sell. i don't know what ever came of it but hopefully someone somehow will eventually fix it because even if it's not the greatest game EVAR!!! as Hyde says, it's a rare and interesting piece of history.

good luck on picking that thing up.

What you have there is a dedicated Arkanoid cab that was converted to MH :D

I don't know, this one is Home-Use-Only. I don't believe I have ever seen a HUO Major Havoc come on the market before. I can see it getting $4k.

I paid $3,500 for the one that I have in "minty" condition. And yes, this was even in the "bad" economy. I purchased it in September of 2008, right as things were STARTING to get "ugly". You know, just before the Presidential election when everyone started to realize that it was all about to go to $hit....

What's the story with this game? I'd never come accross it in an arcade. I tried it out on mame yesterday and about 30 seconds into my game it inverted my computer screen at work and caused all sorts of major havok on my files. It seemed like a vector shooter, almost Star Warsy. Why is everyone always talking about it?
