Very interesting:

So this should also work in a Playchoice Unisystem conversion too:

Whatever happened to that guy that was selling the JAMMAfied SNESes? I was going to get one but I seem to remember something happened, I don't remember what though and I can't find the thread.

The reason the Super System had the crappy D-pads was because many SNES games were designed around the shoulder button concept and that does NOT translate well to a standard arcade button layout.

You get that same problem jammatizing any console that used shoulder buttons (basically anything that came out after the genesis), as a large number of games will use the shoulder buttons in a way that is awful on an arcade panel.

I have zero interest in playing any console games on an arcade cabinet. Sorry, I don't get it. PC-10 is lame too, really (don't kill me! :)). And so are those Xbox arcade cabs.

I completely agree... I was never a fan of paying to play home games on a timer, and even on free play, I'd rather just play them on the console from the couch.

i like the controls. playing all sorts of NES games on a VS cabinet is tempting to me, if my VS mario fails I just might make the conversion. hundreds of games is better than a few.

Nice! Is that just straight wiring, or do you need some circuitry to connect SNES games? BTW I love that you chose to use the Super Game Boy!

You are lame! :p There are some NES games that are better than the arcade versions, Contra and Ninja Gaiden are two of them. Don't get me started on how bad Haunted Castle is compared to Castlevania! And Vs Castlevania is still a NES game IMHO. :D

I find that with having kids I never get to sit down and play a console anymore, so having a NES games in a arcade cabinet works well for me.

Totally, the arcade controls makes playing NES games more fun. The new NES to Playchoice adapter that 2600 made is really awesome.

Xbox 360 cabs are awesome if it's a Japanese HD machine cause they play just like the Japanese HD versions at a fraction of the price.

Dreamcast machines are awesome cause it's the mirrored hardware of the AWESOME NAOMI arcade boards.

I personally have some interest in playing a SNES on an arcade cab just because there are a couple of great great games that never got their arcade version, like SUPER Ghouls and Ghosts.

you love your weird console cabs don't you. This one I'm not in the boat w/ you...
The GnG trilogy was complete with Super. It was just a travesty that they never put out Super GnG on CPS1/2

Ultimate I have but never even cracked it open as I heard it wasn't that great.

sorry but for me a PC 10 is total nostalgia as it's where I first tried out alot of games I bought later. It's also the first place I ever saw Super Mario Bros. 3 and the fact that it actually plays a NES game(or two) that was never sold as a cart appeals to me.

So I did this today, I have the SNES wired up to a JAMMA fingerboard, and that is plugged into my Neo cabinet via a JAMMA adapter. Looks like I will need to add a video amp circuit.
