SNES Classic on the way?

Why not? They will always find ways to milk the great years of Nintendo.

I like this comment: "First they have to stop apparently hand-making the classic edition so everybody can get one."

Probably won't be out until next October anyway.... gives me time to save up for it. I'd definitely be in.

I'll pass. Nintendo is far too stupid of a company to be able to produce enough to meet demand, and I won't want to support a company who cares more for scalpers than for the end-customer.

I've got an SD2SNES cart and will await the development of a lag-free HDMI board for the system just like there is for the NES and N64. (Just installed the Ultra HDMI mod on my N64 yesterday and freaking love it! Can't wait for my Everdrive 64 to get here).

I agree. I have an Everdrive N8 and top loading NES. I can play every game and it isn't emulation. I also have SD2SNES.

I think the Classic NES made sense but was poorly executed.

I don't agree on the scalper comment. A sucker is born everyday. If someone can't wait 2 days 2 weeks or 2 months let them spend $500. I don't fault Nintendo for that. The idea that Nintendo didn't want those sales is somewhat absurd. Were they stupid production and supply chain wise? Yes. But I don't believe for a second they deliberately fed the bottom feeding scalpers.

Not the first time, and certainly not the last, that Nintendo will underestimate the popularity of their products. It's really stupid.

Fair point. I would say I agree that it isn't/wasn't being done deliberately, but the end result is still the same.

Still, it makes you wonder if the marketing department figured a small production run would drive up demand to generate more sales later on, but production failed to keep up the supply?

Actually I bet you may have hit the nail on the head there! Some level of that seems like a good theory to me. Nintendo has to know it left money on the table this year and it could not have been intentional.
