Snake in the arcade

Yeah I am trying to figure out how you got a picture of his underside .

Some snakes (like the hognose in my link) will "play dead" when it can't escape, in the hopes you will eventually give up on it and it can sneak away. If you flip it back on it's belly, it will turn onto it's back again...

Ah cool I didn't know that! :)

Not usually those..they get 4-5' long, and are pretty brave.. We used to have em everywhere, I figure they earn their keep in mouse hunting, but one spring we had two in the house, one on my tractor, and kept seeing them in the yard, and one fell out on me when I was in the crawlspace... I decided it was time to thin the population a little. Now I kill them if I see them in the yard, and occasionaly by accident in the bush hog. The guy that lives in the attic I guess keeps warm in the insulation, or he is only up there in the spring/summer. I find skins, and poop up there, but never see him.

Me and a friend found a huge Hog Nose snake when we were kids, they're quite amusing! First they try to convince you they're deadly cobras or something by hissing really loud and snapping at your feet, even though they don't bite, then when that doesn't work they fall over and play dead.

i trapped it with a bowl then slid a plastic rastan bezel under it, so the last two pictures are looking up at it sitting on top of that bezel with the bowl on top, does look kind of strange, might help if I rotated the images.

I had a Lethal Enforcers game in my out garage that I was working on. I had left the back off for the night as I had plans to continue working on it the next day. Next day came, and a black snake got inside the cab. I didn't notice it at first. It was only when I bent down and reached in the back of the cabinet to unplug the light gun cables from the board did I notice it. I shot out of that cabinet like a cannon ball!! Got my wits then went back and shoveled him out.

Gopher Grabbers work well in tight places for picking up snakes.
