unfortunately I'm not talking about the metal gear series.

found a snake in my arcade yesterday. the arcade is in a recently finished garage, I'm hoping it hitched a ride on something or came in while the area was wide open when the work was being done but who knows.

can anyone identify this thing and let me know if it is poisonous or not?

Yeah that's what I was going to say. I saw a bunch of them when I lived in Ashland. They are not poisonous. I guess you killed him?

Ha! These little bastards are really aggressive... they behave like a typical venomous snake and have a pretty wide head on them (dead give away for venomous). They coil and strike... I've had a few in the yard and the first time I came across them I was a little taken back. Oh and they will climb trees... the first one I came across was sitting in my cedar tree looking at me at eye level.

Oh trust me I would have killed him too!!

I should have taken pictures of the Bat I found in my basement arcade a few months ago LOL. Let's just say BB guns are your best friend. Yup he died. :D

Snakes don't bother me so much, even if they are venomous, I just get a shovel or heavy gloves and get rid of it. What makes me scream like a girl are giant spiders. Mortal terror is how I would describe the feeling. It is strange because this phobia didn't exist when I was a kid, but it becomes stronger each year. It is a good thing I don't own a shotgun because I am sure there would be holes all over the house. They must be destroyed at all costs.

All you do with a snake like that is hold its head down with a broom handle then pick it up behind the head. Toss it outside and be done with it.

Of course, tossing it outside in this frozen Dallas weather today would be the death of the poor thing.

I so thought that when I was opening this thread... "I hope he means the name of a game!!!"

Glad it didn't "get ya..."

lmao.

On another forum, one user posted a very similar 'YIKES!!! SNAKE IN MY SHOP!!!' thread with all the same reactions and suggestions. I think he whacked it with a shovel and flung it out.

This was followed some months later by a 'YUCK!!! RATS IN MY SHOP!!!' thread.

I couldn't resist.....
