$100 CL pickup . Mint cab,, still has original power section , glass and marquee setup.
missing vector monitor tho.
Sideart is still under the crappy paint job.
Gonna do the multivector board and burn free monitor conversion .

Nice find, man. Good candidate for a multi-vector.

also , the monitor in it seems pretty burn free. its a hanterex MTC 900E.
Guy said it worked fine then it just quit one day.
Its gets no power.. the HOT is beeping at me with my meter on it.
You think it might just be the HOT? I have the NTE Cross ref and can get one tomorrow.
anything else special i should know?

If it was me, I think I would just keep it around to play Capcom Bowling. Just me, I guess.

i can make a wooden box and stick capcom bowling in it.. would be just the same.
however i wanted to make a nice multi vector that was 10 kinds of nasty in an atari cab.

is capcom bowling vertical or horizontal? I don't get the multi-vector being horizontal in a vertical tempest cab. Interesting though so subscribed.

Yeah its a horiz board to my understanding..
I believe its because some of the games on the multi vector are horizontal.

Cabinet is now empty at the moment. Monitor got the boot, its getting replaced.
Stripping the paint off the sides as we speak. already got new t molding.
I took the coors bowling and capcom bowling boards out.. the jamma harness
and the trackball.. they all still work and are going up for sale soon cheeeeap.

9/10 times on the MTE9000s (later model but similar in some respects) there is a resistor on the right that gets really hot and this tells you the HOT and or flyback is shorted. Honestly I've put HOTs and fly backs in the 9000s and had reasonable success at bringing back to life on that alone.

The Hantarex chassis are difficult sometimes though... I'm getting help on these boards for a few bad apples myself.

what i did was....
I got a burn free donor tube, a frame and a k7000 chassis off ebay.
I think ill be ok with just that for now.

Today i am stripping the poopy paint off the cab along with the t molding.
the original tempest side art is still under the paint so im hoping thats ok.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you that the K7000 is way better(I'm sure that's why you did it) - but if nothing else you know where to start if you ever decide to fix the Hantarex. If the Hantarex is burn free you may want it in the future! :)

I'm going to be doing my first K7000 tube swap at some point this summer... Been grabbing tubes lately!

i grabbed about 12 extra tubes ... got a buncha frames from an OP warehouse .
just buying up k7000's chassis at the moment.

As for the hanterex... Until i find a replacement for TR9 , i can give zero F%$@'s
about it.

Wouldn't you want to run a computer monitor in this instead of CGA? Seems like a CRT computer monitor would do a much better job of faking a vector.

Yeah but its just a project so its not gonna kill me if its not perfect.
Just looking for something to do.

At the moment the cab is out back with paint stripper on it.
Somebody spray painted black , then put some wierd maroon house paint over
the original side art. Lets just say its not coming right off.
