Smearing and Wonky Colors?

Welp, I'm pretty much stumped. I've tried everything I know how to do, and the suggestions here as well. Unless anyone has any genius ideas, I'll probably end up taking it to a nearby repair place. Hopefully they'll let me watch and learn more about how these work.

Stupid question, I saw that people suggested tweaking the focus knob, but no post that says you tried the focus knob. Confirm/deny?

He mentioned trying the "knobs on the flyback", so I assumed he had.

Yeah, I definitely tried the focus knob. It's beyond my knowledge to fix, so I'm taking it into a local guy that repairs arcade machines tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes (unless it was something completely stupid that I missed).

just in my random search endeavors for "Sampo" I found this thread and read it and was wondering if you ever got this to work.

I got one in my Defender I need to cap.

Oh wow, I guess I forgot to update the thread. It wasn't anything major, just some other cracked joints on the neckboard that weren't really visible to the naked eye. It was beyond my means to troubleshoot at the time, so I had another guy fix it. I'm pretty sure the fix was just 2 jumper wires.
