Hi,
The units keeps scanning and picking up each record and playing it. This happens in normal play mode and also in service mode when set at free play. What could be the problem?

Thank you,
Joe

Hi,
No, the screen looks fine. It just keeps selecting records and playing them. It also does show the selection that is playing. It does this as soon as I put it in regular play mode or if I hit the 99 code for the free play in the service mode.

Someone else here may need to chime in to assist as that may be beyond my skillset. Was the unit working when you got it and just started doing this? Or did you just pick it up and are now trying to repair it?

Got it a week ago. It was in a warehouse for the last 17 years. Got it up and running all except for this issue. I have the manuals but don't see anything about this problem.

If someone else doesn't chime in here, I would join the Google Group for jukeboxes and post the question out there. Those guys talk jukes all day long like we talk games here.

My SMC2 has a similar problem. From what I can tell by switching out other parts, my problem is in the microcomputer. Open the microcomputer case and see if there is any battery corrosion. If there is, your connectors could be corroded.
