I could have sworn I had a SMB3 PC10 cart, but when I went to list them for sale yesterday, I saw I had a SMB2 cart. I listed it as such, but went to test it today, and sure enough, it was SMB3 despite what the label said.

Well, I went and looked at a pic I took a couple months back and I see where there was a SMB3 label that came off revealing a SMB2 label underneath. Was this common for PC10 carts? Did they run a big lot of one game, but then decide to put another on the same cart if there wasn't a demand or the game was unsold?

Here's a pic before the label came off to reveal the SMB2 label.
You can see the SMB2 label peeking out of the upper left corner of the second pic.

I bought a bunch of sealed in box PC10 carts years ago and opened them all. One of them, maybe SMB3, can't remember for sure, had a loose RBI Baseball label wrapped inside the foil. So it wasnt applied onto the cart but I thought it was odd that it was in the foil with the wrong cart. So maybe quality control was a problem at the factory during labeling and packaging?
