I installed the pleasure dome eproms in my Smash TV today and now the game volume is through the roof. It was perfectly fine with the other roms in, but now it is unbearably loud even when the volume pot is all the way down. The CPU test checks out fine, says all the roms are good and the game acknowledges that it's now revision 8.0 etc. Any ideas on what is going on?

EDIT: This has been fixed, had nothing to do with the new eprom.

this might be a version thats been hacked to amp the sound. Not sure since you didnt specify the ROM version you burned.

Try a lower version ROM.... Thats all i got.

I provided the v8.0 eproms,
... and have for many others who never had this problem.

My guess is something changed with the volume pot ( disconnected wire/connector ? ).

I offered the OP some suggestions to try.

If nothing else, he can put the original eproms back
to see if the problem stays or goes away.

Cheers,
Steph

sounds like the shield wire to me

steph's roms are top notch

if you're so confident it's the roms, then why don't you put your old ones back in?

though I'll give you some clues: check your pot connector, your shield wire and the connections going to the pot itself.

usually these boards detect a change in the romsets and clear the CMOS automatically, but if it didn't give you a CMOS error, it didn't, and therefore I would suggest doing a Full Factory Restore from the Utilities menu in Test Mode.

good luck.
