All,

I just picked up a Hang On running off of a SMART-PI board. Amazing product that works exactly as described I recommend.

I cannot figure out how you change the dip switch settings using the SMARTY-PI though. I can navigate to them in the test menu and it will show me what the settings are, but there is no ability to change them from within the game itself. I've opened up the configuration files and you can change which game you can boot in to (super handy) but it does not appear to allow you to change the dip switches.

The reason why this is important is the dip switch settings control attract sounds. I have these in a home arcade and I don't want to listen to the same 3 seconds of music every 20 seconds. If anyone has any ideas on how/where to adjust these, please let me know. The current workaround is manually turning the sound down when not playing the game.

Thanks all!

Hi @sataneatscheese,

I think you may have messaged or emailed me direct but I can't find it to reply, so let me give you the info you need here.

If you connect a USB/Wireless keyboard to a spare USB port on the Pi, use the MAME menu system to set the dips (Tab, cursor keys and enter)

Press Tab to open the menu, highlight the dip switch option and press enter. Set the dip options as you need them. When you are happy with the new configurations, at the bottom of the dip menu is a 'reset' option. highlight and select (enter) the game will restart and the options you set will be saved forever. You will need to do this for any game you wish to make dip adjustments for.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers, smarty.
