Small run of new Atari 720 joysticks

Wow I just woke up to this thread and I am shocked. I have a wanted thread for and Atari Gimbal Joystick for my food fight table, Greg sent me some parts which arrived next day international which blew my mind.

Everything went so smoothly. I still owe him the money for the parts as the company he used for money transfer doesn't work between the UK and USA.

I was really excited about the work he was doing! I was around during the RAM controls fiasco so know the back story.

For everyone that was scammed... DON'T PAY! I know that might feel a bit dishonorable, but it's only what he deserves.

If we want to truly drive this guy away for good, I'd say even the people that RECEIVED their controller should act as if they didn't and contest payment. We should SCAM him!!

Easy for me to say, but don't know what I'd do...

I never knew the ram control story, Greg contacted me on my lunar lander thruster wanted thread... He asked me to pay through square , and I never used it before. So I checked his bio and it said he was a member for 2hrs .... I felt uneasy about it... But it took me forever to get a braze multi kit for my asteroids, and a new takeman CP, and CPO... The thruster was the last pc. So I took a chance... He charged me 175 shipped... I thought fair! I got the tracking at 5pm in California and it was on my door at 9am on Long Island. My dealing with him went perfect. I may have been one of the lucky ones.

He has told me he doesn't want the money.

I think the whole "don't become the man you hate" outlook should play out here. Scamming a scammer doesn't make it right.

I am really confused, he seems really nice.

He has told me people on the forum from California know him. Can someone who does contact me.

This is EXACTLY how things played out last time... the scam is IDENTICAL. There are dozens who can say they got free shit from RAM... dozens...

Not kidding. Look it up. If you support RAM you're kicking people in the nuts who got scammed for THOUSANDS (again, not kidding).

Are you kidding me? What is the matter with you.

This is absolutely unbelievable. This is yet another nail in the coffin for people with any shred of doubt.

I hope that's the case Duane. With everything he was posting, we had the potential for an influx of much-needed parts.

I was so ready to buy some of the metal gimbals.

It totally sucks this has played out as it has. Let's hope no-one was taken to the cleaners on this specific part.

I may be picking this project up. Im waiting on a response now from a guy in AZ I use for cnc work to get back to me.

The pics he posted of the arms are not hard to make. I looked at a few redesigns in the past but quit as i had enough parts for myself. It is the last weak link to fix in the design and should eliminate more flex. I had no idea so many people were in need of the arms. I know one day I will need more as well even though I do keep spares. I hate to steal the guys idea per say but it is sound. I do worry about how fast they might wear out. I came across a food fight stick once and the shaft was aluminum instead of steel. It was worn so bad I couldnt believe it. The nylon arms had worn deep grooves in the aluminum. Hopefully with some lithium the arms will hold up. Its not possible to run wear tests on them. Most of us probably would never wear them out anyhow. If they can be done reasonable and we have 27 people like in the thread we will get em done.

Too bad.....

....when I noticed no response whatsoever to my post, that pretty much told me he was fishy:

My suggestion(s) would be this:

1. Provide other local KLOV members (that maybe even Tombo can approve of) the ability to come and check out your facility and operations - basically vouch that you're legit.

2. Any business license/verification of who you are. This can be done in private to a moderator like Tombo to verify who you are as well.

Live and learn for all I suppose

I think it's a moot point now, but did everyone's packages from 'Greg' come from Baldwin Park, CA?

Looks like it is not illegal to send something with a bum return address unless fraud is committed.
