Small run of new Atari 720 joysticks

It's simply insane that you were able to build these so quickly. From reading your posts it sounds as if you just started these the other day yet here's a pic of a bunch of them. If the quality on those sticks gets a thumbs up from the first few buyers, you're going to become a really popular dude around there :D.

I think once one person buys one and vouches for the quality they will disappear, but for that price no one wants to be the tester...

@GF323 -- You should reach out to Jeff of the 720zone and see if he'll do a review of the stick for you. If he were to give it a thumbs up you'd sell that entire lot in hours ;).

Or, find out its RAM Controls.... ;)

I was busting my ass day and night running off parts to get them done in short order. I'm sending out a few of them today. I can't wait to get some proper feedback from those first few. I've been on Jeff's site a lot! He's go so much good info. The lot is almost sold, so I'm not sure I need any help, though. LOL

Out of this first lot of nine joysticks, I have six which are now spoken for. I have enough complete sets of parts to build nine more joysticks. If it looks like I'm going to sell them, I will start making more of the parts as soon as possible. Send me a PM.

Mine just arrived!!

I believe I was the first one to order one and most likely the first person to receive one. First, The amount of care that went into the packaging (and overnight shipping that I did not ask for) should serve as the model for how arcade parts should be shipped. I am a little bummed out that I didn't take photos of that alone.

I have had my 720 for about 4 years and over that time have gone through various stages of parts hoarding. I usually have at least one extra joystick on hand, but I finally sold my last one in November feeling like I have a perfect one in the game right now that shouldn't have any problems for the foreseeable future. This controller is easily the nicest I have held in my hand. If it wasn't for the conversations I have had via PM (after I took a chance and bought the controller) I don't think you could convince me that this is a 100% reproduction. Its shocking. I got butterflies looking at it. I do not know GF323 personally, but I believe him to be as honest and trustworthy as anyone I have met in my lifetime. It is beyond commendable that he took this project on, knocked it out in short order, and delivered a product of this caliber. I have to think that at least $50 was spent on the shipping and packaging alone. To have this thing custom made and delivered for $400 when used incomplete sticks are going for upwards of $600 makes this possible the greatest 720 related purchase of all time. I'm sure others will chime in and say the same when they start arriving on doorsteps.

Here are a few photos I just took. I plan on swapping it in this weekend when I have some time.

buy with confidence from GF323.

Yeah to the floor. I am sooooooooooooo tempted to buy one of these 720 sticks. Great piece of arcade history and one mans passion to recreate the wheel even better. Problem is getting all the other parts.............cab is easy, markrl is the man on that :)

The remainder of the parts I needed to start the assembly process finished up today. This was much earlier than I expected. So with parts in hand I jumped right into it. Attached you will see nine scratch built "reproduction" Atari 720 joysticks. They are 100% reproduction and not OEM. They are a drop in replacement for OEM and all parts are interchangeable. The joysticks are tested/calibrated and properly lubricated. I have enough complete sets of parts for a few more joysticks. I wanted to stop here, take a break and show pictures of my progress for those who were interested. This is a very limited run. Enjoy!

What is your name?

I am not doing this via PM so everyone can see this.

I am going to need your name and I am going to require you to snap an image of yourself holding the 720 controller.

If this is not done, your account is suspended here.

Any PM you send me or any other mod will be made public so don't bother.

We will not be taken advantage of.

Whats to keep a friend from standing in on the pic? This is going to be hard to prove I think. Seems like a coincidence that anyone could produce all these items so quickly . Looks like old stock but I will reserve my judgement until all facts are known. I dont believe in coincidence
