Has anyone ever parted out a working Slugfest (display not working) and what was the total value of the parts?
Thanks,
Garry

Yes I am considering parting one out.... I suspect that one is worth as much in parts as they are working.....considering the WPC board compatability. Add the playfield, card dispenser and such I think the value would add up quickly. If I am wrong I will consider shopping and selling complete.
Just thinking....

Seems silly to part it out if it's just a bad display. It's your machine and you can do what you want, but I think in this case the Space duel logic doesn't apply. Parting this out would be pathetic.Funny...no it is not that bad. I understand your warning about being criticized for parting a working game but to be honest if people would pay a fair price for some games they would not be parted. Perfect case being Space Duel video game...the XY monitors were more valuable than the complete game. Many were killed to allow Tempest and Major Havocs to live on. Anyway, I will take by bruises because some game deals really do come down to business and allowing other games to live on. I have 3 Slugfests in various working condition and am working deals to keep them alive but if I cannot sell them for a decent price....they will be parted.
Well it is more than the display...

Add it all up and I am concerned that it is a losing proposition. To sell it means I have to sell it for less than the parts value in order for the next guy to be in the black. These are really not rare so I fail to see the problem.
