Slightly OT: round "turntable" prize machine with...claws?

Many 80s arcades had one, but I really can't remember the details of it, other than the prizes were on a giant turntable, and it always played a looping / catchy / maddening tune. Might've had claws - I frankly forget how the prizes got into the receptacles at the bottom.

What's this beast called?

Was it King Aurthur's Round Table? IIRC, the prizes were scattered about the turntable and you tried to 'swat' them off the table to tumble down a tube, gumball-style into the recepticle. Not sure if that was '80's vintage, though...

Hmmm...it might've been similar.

But this is one of those things where I'm not gonna know unless I see pictures or video. Just searched on what you described and found zilch thru Google...

could be Smart Jackpot, they were pretty common.

There's 'cocktail' claw machines too, but they're much more popular overseas. Basically a box you look down into and play like a regular crane.

They had one at the last SuperAuctions in Mesquite that sounds a bit like what you are asking about. It was round with a big bubble top. It had 4 cranes in the center and the prizes were on this rotating circular table. So you had to time your grab to catch it as it went past.

We used to have one years ago..It got scrapped out, but it was a similar idea. I can't remember the name of it offhand (Paradise Island? Paradise?) I remember the artwork was Indians on canoes, and palm trees and stuff like that. Basically, a Hawaiian paradise theme. But I know exactly what type of machine you're talking about, sorry I can't be of more asssistance.

I found this video on YouTube that was shot back in 2007. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2tMHsaXd8w Around the 4 minute mark, the DigaMart is shown and you can briefly hear the music. We no longer have the machine so I can't run over and look at it. Lots of changes since 2007.

Hope this helps.

Thx for posting!

It's too hard for me to hear the tune but, now that I've seen the machine in the vid clip, that's the one I'm talking about. Sweet.

What's the one making the sporting event "rally" tune at around the same time in the video? Skee Ball? Whatever it is, all of our arcades had that, too...
