Here's a forum I never thought I'd start a thread in! And Doh, I put it in the wrong one at that lol.

I recently picked up a coin pusher for on the cheap (Well, at least for around here) Mechanically it was sound. Structurally? Yikes. The bottom 6 inches had some bad water damage.

Here's the pusher. Filthy! Banged up!!

Water damaged wood. I forgot to take a picture of the cabinet before I got excited and cut out/removed all the water damaged areas. This pic shows the bottom in the trashcan. The bottom 6 inches was all swollen and flaking apart. The plywood was peeling in layers. Whee!

Some rebuilding. This is my first time trying this. Oh yeah, the back had soaked up water like a sponge and killed the whole backdoor!

And now after lots of sanding, painting and some sideart printed by Rikitiki, we end up with this:

I'm very happy with how it all turned out. I've been wanting a coin pusher for quite sometime now; even more so since I run the games on tokens! Ah, the fond memories of being at fun factory and hearing the alarm going off on the pushers there as people bumped the games to try and get free loot. Hah!

See more pictures here.

That is really cool! Do you keep the tokens you win, or tickets? Hope tokens. I would love one of those. I just got a crane last year and the kids love it. It's fun to have something "different" in the gameroom. I have more kids play the crane than any of the vids.

Great work on that, and love the custom art. I'd call that a "real" restoration. Sure, it wasn't a classic arcade game, but you used the same "real" restoration skills that would apply. :D

It dumps out tokens when you 'win'. People love to play and the kids love going after the super balls and other small toys in there. Its funny watching them work so hard to get a single super ball!

And yes, kids love the cranes. Wow, best thing I've added to the arcade so far. It gets the most play! A close second is a ticket redemption game called DinoScore.

Nice. I remember playing those things in OC, MD when I was young. They mostly used the 6 or 8 sided units, and they were setup to take and pay out in quarters. Great fun back in the day.
