Ok, sent a message to this Ebay seller, he has a 96.5% rating, about this question I had about shipping because he listed it weird in his description. Hes had this Model 2 game board set and harness listed for a while now, but he says it would cost extra to ship with cage........and I was honestly confused on that. First of all, who wouldn't want the casing in which the game boards are mounted in along with the filter board. Second, why didn't he just say metal cage to clarify this a little better because all he said was "cage." Thirdly, I know there may be a relative weight difference in packing that metal cage along with it, but its there to protect the boards........and I would believe that it would actually cost more to secure the boards if they were not protected by a stainless steel metal case............

The item is a Virtual On Cyber Troopers boardset with Harness and what seems to be the power and lowpass amp included.....I see one at least.
It's list price is $150
The shipping is $45
And plus $20 if I want the "CAGE"

I ask him to clarify what he meant with a few questions and that I would certainly want the metal casing if I bought it.............he only responded with

"the metal cage."

Seriously!?

uh.... that's pretty common actually. A metal cage that the pcb mounts in is usually pretty heavy, and makes the package bigger, so it makes it cost more to ship. The post office won't ship it for the same amount as the smaller, lighter items inside the cage.

You could probably try calling the postmaster though and see if he'll make an exception for you.

I probably wouldn't have issue paying that extra for the cage, but it was really just a half-assed answer........or smartass answer...........I mean you don't want to just treat your customer like that if they say they would really be interested in purchasing it.

Guess I expected too much.

He could very well have been typing away a response while the page was still loading, and the cursor hadn't hit the text box. Something like "It will cost more to ship with the metal cage." maybe?

I watch TV while I type, and I've done it before by accident, firing off the ENTER key to send and most of what I typed didn't get sent.

I piss myself off with Google this way too, I'm already typing and nothing shows up save for the last word I type in.

How about instead of assumptions and bitching, you contact him again stating that's all you got in his message...

Guess I know who I may not sell any of my Virtual On boardsets and other hardware to soon, if you're the type to just jump the gun on a miscommunication.

I can understand probable miscommunication, but was that necessary?
Plus im pretty sure he would sent something else along with the first if that was the case.
