Hey, Ive read a couple restoration threads and I've heard a few people say not to mess with the sockets. I've got a skeeball machine where theres more than a few sockets already dead, would it not be possible to solder new wedge sockets back on to the board? I was having a difficult time finding the sockets anyways. Seems like a shame to have to buy a whole new board for just a couple bad sockets.

Have you tried calling Skee Ball? I got some from them not too long ago. They are like $1 each. There was a someone selling them on Ebay too.

You really don't want to buy the updated display unless you have to, it is something like $450.

If you are going to solder in new sockets, mine as well solder in a new led lamp. Same amount of work. Probably will never burn out.

LEDs with the limiting resistor built in work but don't look right especially in the Attract Mode. Seems Skee Ball accounted for the warm up / cool down of the bulbs in the software and the LED's react too quickly. You get a strobing effect with them.
