Thought I would check and see if anyone here is familiar with board repair on skee ball brand machines. I picked up 2 from a location a while back- one working and one nonworking. Fortunately that has allowed me to swap parts and help narrow down the issues, which seem to be in the CPU. The nonworking machine will only show signs of life through the high voltage cooling fan in the pcb cage, one led on the board, and the "game over" indicator light in the marquee is illuminated solid when powered on. There is no other signs of life in the LED display, and does not respond to coining up that I can tell. This problem seems to move with the CPU when I interchange it with the second working machine. The only other testing I've done is identifying that all traces labeled for 12 volt on the pcb are reading as such. I have yet to find any information to identify any additional voltages on the board. Any help would be appreciated!

Wonder if a reset would help. What model number is your machine?

I believe it is a model S with the integrated power supply in the in the CPU. IIRC, the working board is labelled SBC-1-B, and the nonworking is SBC-1-C. I tried searching for a model S reset, and the only info I came across was that the S didn't have a reset feature, just a "default" setting on the dipswitch.

SkeeBall will repair their boards. You call them first, get a PO #, and they'll do the work. It's not cheap but not terribly expensive either. They've repaired mine.

I had read that was an affordable option compared to other repair services, however the Skeeball, inc company was bought out last year by Baytek games. Even their website redirects you to bay's link now, so I was going to try to call the new company and see if they offer some of the same services. It's a shame too, seems like any time people mention interacting with skee ball, they always had positive things to say about the staff and their efforts (just not so much the price of replacement parts!).

Called baytek this morning, and from what I gathered, they work on skee ball brand equipment as well. Looks like one or two of the old skeeball, inc employees were brought in, but they want roughly $200 for a PCU repair.
I also found a website called alleyrepair.com that offers repair service for $!30, has anyone had any experience with them?

Did you get it repaired? seems like I am in the same boat.

I finally threw in the towel and sent it to alleyrepair. Big thumbs up for their service. Apparently there were a couple of issues that were repaired which were beyond my skillset. All in all I think it ended up being about $150 including shipping both ways, and was maybe a week total in turnaround time.

Do you happen to know if all three of your led lights on the board illuminate now? I have a none working board and it only had one led lit up
