Are there any other sit down servo acuated games similar to Afterburner? Also, I did a search and did not find much, but are there any DIY projects for creating games like this? Would love to get my hands on a cockpit Afterburner game!

Yeah, I couldnt find an acurate pic, but I played it at Gameworks in ohio a few months ago and it was an awesome, awesome game.

Does it move, shake or have any other type of movement feedback? It kind of looks like it's just a sitdown game. My Sky Target doesn't have any sort of movement or shaker motor but it would be much better if it did. Anyone have any suggestions on how to wire a small one?

The game has a "Danger" lamp on the control panel which flashes once when hit but when you have low health it flashes steadily until you crash. I think I could wire in an A/C converter which would output 6v DC and wire it to some small motors like the ones found in force feedback console controllers. I could mount these to the joystick underneath the control panel or maybe the panel itself and that should provide a bit of vibration or feedback. Any ideas as to why this wouldn't work, or any reason to why I shouldn't try this?

it has movement, and shaking. I was pretty impressed. Sega is still turning out some cool arcade games these days. They actually own Gameworks, so that is the best place to see the newest sega stuff. The Rambo game is pretty badass too.

The Afterburner Climax I played did have motion if the seat belt was fastened. It was pretty cool.

It was at a local Chuck E Cheese.

I had one of these for about a year:

Spent $400 just in PARTS fixing it up.
But it sure was fun while it lasted.
I've also got experience with OutRun, the semi-rare
Cruisin' USA motion sitdown, Virtua Racing 33" deluxe
and many others. It can be mechanically satisfying
to see these beasts get heavy use.

The galaxy force is awesome, second only to the R360. Never seen the crusin' motion cab in person but I do have some photos of it. Would like to see that one some day, probably won't happen since arcades are really dead here now. Haven't been able to find the 2006 afterburner climax yet, I guess I will keep looking.

We will have an Afterburner deluxe moving cabinet for sale in two weeks. Starting a liquidation project of the contents of two mall arcades, and I see there is a big Afterburner coming in. Taking offers. Located in tacoma, WA.
