Checking out Sinistar , based on a post just gone by , i do this incase i would like to add the PCB to my collection , Klov`s game play section has a very long description , possibly one of the longest i have seen to date ,

Question is ,

Was this game huge ?
seems quite impressive for 1982 , would anyone say , this is a cult game , iconically worth getting ?

I will check it out on the Tube .

{ cannot remember it around here } .

It was not very popular when it originally came out in 1982. It was very difficult (and still is). Rumor is that the game designers came out with what is referred to as the perfect or missing roms which was their original game design and Williams told them to make it harder because the ops were bitching that the games were lasting too long. I would classify it as a cult type game now. I always liked playing it and I drove a long way to pick mine up. Unlike Millipede I actually kept playing this one in the arcades despite the difficulty because I thought the game play and graphics were advanced for the day. I don't think that many of them were made because it was released just before the big crash. I would have to say that Sinistar is definitely one of the top 5 I would keep if I had to start selling games off.

Another thing to keep in mind, Sinistar uses an optical 49-way stick. Not sure if it'll work with a standard stick (hopefully someone else can chime in)

As far as I know any joystick will work, but the control won't be nearly as good as the 49 way stick. Playing it in MAME should give you the idea.
