Anyone make them? I have a cockpit that I'd like to restore and it will never look 100% if I just fix the edges.

Thanks for the vids explaining how fiberglass/resin and ABS don't mix.
I also have a Sini CKPT that needs seat repair. Now I know to not use the more common fiberglass/resin technique. :)

For my CKPT, I doubt that I'd ever repaint it. Never seen Sini CKPT stencils nor Blaster CKPT stencils for sale.

That's one I'd ( match paint ) airbrush touch up and spend way too much time on.
Even if there are gouges into the art.
So many of these have really swollen wood though.
How good is it on yours ?

Slow kick aluzine epoxy might work?
The problem is you would need to run a test to check.

i am no expert but i know abs slurry is absolutely amazing!! it hardens in seconds and eats into the surrounding material to make one solid piece. and the best thing is there is no need to paint it afterwards

Ta dum ... (glad I never got around to doing the fiberglass/resin).

Got an amazon link to the black ABS sheet you used? Something like this ->

I'm willing to try to do the stencils if someone can get me a scan, or if someone in ga has one I can scan

Troy's classic Arcade Restoration on youtube is doing a series on Sinistar restore, there are a few episodes with painting the artwork, he started taping off by color but then came across some markers which seem to work for him (
) check it out...in case you don't find stencils.

I did the same on a Robotron a couple of years ago. Tedious, but I was happy with the results. Album for those interested:

troy is actually a good friend of mine and we live close. i am no stranger to touching up side art but there are several swollen areas inside the art area so if i were to completely restencil it would look best. but i will do what i have to if i have to

...but there are several swollen areas...

Been watching your YT's on this Sinistar, waiting for more. Great solution on fixing the seat, nicely done...

Speaking of swollen areas, I hope your ankle is doing OK after the game last night. Saw you get carted off the field.... :)
