So I have the chance to pick up a Sinistar.. I owned one for 7+ years and for some reason a while back I sold it.. Well, I found one that is working 100%.. But, the side art is peeling so badly you can scrap it off with your hands..

So, the big question is:
Stencil or Sticker

In the past I rebuilt a Robotron that needed new art, I choose the sticker route.. It came out nice, but it just didn't seem right..too glossy I think..

Stencils seem like a tough job for a guy that has trouble with patience.. I also don't have an air compressor for the paint.. But I want this one to be a keeper... what should I do?

Stenciling is the right way to go. Can't really preserve history if you alter it to make it easy on yourself.

Stencils..

Who makes the best sinistar stencils? Any tips, or experience with painting a sinistar?

Thanks for your help

Found one with nice sideart

Well, I passed on the one that needed the sides repainted.. He had another one that was in much better condition, just a bit of chipping at the base..

I am presently rebuilding my Sinistar as we speak and at the point of the side art. I had the choice of full vinyl or stencil. If I went with the full vinyl I would still need to sand, sand, sand, prime, sand etc. So I said lets go for the original look and re-stencil.
Just light sanded next to last coat of paint may start installing stencils this weekend.
If you don't have a HVLP sprayer I have found that a foam roller gives good results.

Good luck.
