Does anyone know if it's possible to boot straight into one mame rom at startup? so if I wanted my computer to startup as quantum I wouldn't do anything other than plug it in.

I know with MALA front end you can start with one game, Im sure there are other front ends that have this option

Suppose you could write a batch file to execute at windows startup to run the commandline version of MAME

BYOAC has a great thread on hiding XP boot/welcome/logon screens..

There is a program called instantsheller that can keep XP from loading explorer.exe and go right into a front end, or maybe a batch file..

I looked into this for a Tempest MAME project... but ended up getting a REAL TEMPEST!! (my grail, if you will)

I think you could just edit your startup .bat file with a MAME command line..

mame -quantum.zip -x -x (whatever options)

I may be completely wrong... been like 6 years since I did DOS mame stuff

A REAL Tempest? YUK!! You need to strip out that cab and put a mame setup in there running Tempest - Will be more stable!!
:eek::rolleyes::D

...or convert it into a Major Havoc... :rolleyes:
