Love the look, love the theme. Not sure how much replay value it has, or how much I should be looking to pay for one in good physical shape, playable, no sounds. Any help would be nice.

Good pin. Get it. Put in a Pi-1 CPU, and enjoy it.

There's one on Ebay in Ohio right now that looks really nice but unrestored for $650. It has a Niwumph board in it already. Personally I would sell that and get a pi-1 since they are pretty much the same cost.

Cool, I love the optimism. I just got a response back from the seller, so there may be a deal in the works.

Right now in my game room I have a black knight, firepower, spy hunter, lost world and sinbad.

Sinbad gets the most play out of all the pins. Gotta love the drop targets.

I think the reason that people like it so much is the simplicity. Just knock down the drop targets. I am sure that other Sinbad/Eye of the Tiger owners will tell ya, the game becomes very addictive once you knock down all those drops and they reset with the ball in play. Chimes are going crazy and your still playing...

I sold my sinbad over six years ago and regretted it every day until I had the chance to get it back from the person that I sold it to. I would definitely recommend buying this one

I love the art on old Gottliebs. One of these days I will have a Gottlieb EM to play around with.

Sinbad is awesome. I sold the last one I restored for $800 and I felt like I could have got more. There are some pictures of the one I sold on ipdb.

I wouldn't rush into throwing boards at it personally. If it comes in working, system 1 can be made fairly reliable with original boards. To me no sound is not necessarily an indication of an MPU problem.

My $.02

EDIT: don't worry... I have 2 others to restore and I'll definitely be keeping one of them :)

No sounds= bad soundboard? That's the only issue it has says the seller.

I would. The Pi-1 unlocks the full potential of the game. Not to mention safeguards galore. The original cpu can always be stored safelt inside the cab.
I will eventually get another sys. 1 game. It will definitely get a Pi-1 regardless of the CPU condition.

I don't really think the additional rules, lightshow, etc.. are worth the price of admission unless you actually need an MPU.

And I've actually played Sinbad with a Pi-4 installed.

EDIT: Just my opinion...

...or the sound is disconnected, or it is turned down, or there is a CPU issue...

It uses a chime box. I would be pretty surprised if it had a sound board problem. :p

You forgot to mention driver board. The chimes are driven by solenoid driver transistors.

OK, chimebox, cool. And if I pick this up, you'll be there to steadily guide my timid, shaking hands as I repair this?

There are more than enough "experts" to help you out regardless of my involvement.

;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

But yes... I've restored enough system 1 games that I'm confident I could help you figure out your sound problem. You know I've got your back, homie.

EDIT: Pascal's boards are awesome. I am a huge supporter of them and I've got several of them. That said... they're freaking expensive. My opinion is based on owning a shitload of games. I can't throw $200-$300 at them unless I need to.

My first pinball was a Sinbad. Got it all nice and cleaned up and then traded it for another. Kinda regretted the trade and when another popped up about a year later, i grabbed it.

Very fun game.

Sinbad shipped with stock chimes? I did not know that. Been a while since I watched the Sys. 1 supershow. Which pin did they introduce the fart board, or was Sinbad just special like that?

Cleopatra is the first sys1, has chimes. Sinbad is two, has chimes as well. Dragon is fourth and has some crappy wannbe sound board. Must have been the third or fourth sys 1 that they went to digital sound.

dragon does have both a speaker and a chime box though...user selectable

I thought about doing that on my Genie but I was told that the chimes would react too slowly so I didn't.

Actually, that's the play feature I liked the most about the Pi-1 - the fact it speeds up the bonus countdown. I know on the original cpu that if I had a really nice ball, I would be waiting a while before I could start another.

I wanted to do a chime retrofit, but the wife shot it down. She no likey Chimey's.
