Hi,
I'm trying to help my dad fix up his Simpsons pinball machine. We don't know jack about pins, but thought we could fix the little things.
I believe it is called the vertical upkicker that isn't working very well. Actually, it sucks. The mechanism that kicks the ball upward into the green ramp on the right side. Most of the time, it doesn't have enough strength to get the ball up there. So, it keeps trying and trying, then gives up, then the machine starts hitting all the solenoids to knock the ball loose. It does, then sometimes it will kick it out of the hole, but not into the ramp.
How do you fix this problem? Should the whole assembly be replaced or just a part of it? Or, can it be lubed with wd40 or something else? If it has to be replaced, where do you get one?
