Looking at an old Simpsons cab, stripped down to the bones. I've learned that the Simpsons 4 player Konami cab has two speakers holes as opposed to TMNTs cab having 1 centeres speaker hole.

Anyone here know if there are any differences what-so-ever between these cabs dimensions wise etc, outside of the speaker holes?

Dimensions wise they are the same.. the ONLY difference I think is the speaker grills... both have same sides, same control panel, same marque size, same front kick panel with two coin doors.. everything is the same

Just the answer I was looking for - Thanks again man.

Not dimensions... but I seem to recall that there is a slight difference in the positioning of the marquee.

The Simpsons' marquee is slightly more recessed... it leans back about an inch into the cabinet at the top of the marquee, and by comparison, TMNT's marquee is parallel with the front edges of the cabinet. (tilted inward vs. straight vertical)

Hope I explained that right.

Thanks Kyle, just the kind of details I was looking for. Minor stuff. Honestly, if I cared more about the Simpsons franchise, I'd just restore it back to that. Not much motivation on that theme however.

Any idea off the top what size the monitor is that came standard with these cabs? Can't seem to find a straight answer regardless of what cab specs I come across.

I don't have a "for sure" answer but mine had a 25" in it and I am pretty sure it was the dedicated monitor because it matched the bezel perfectly.. which i am sending to Ozzman8 today.. finally after many months!! lol..

Regarding the sticks on the TMNT cab(s) - I've read the original TMNT was leaf and Turtles In Time was microswitch. Can anybody confirm this?

Also, are the shafts of the joysticks on the original TMNT cab 3.5" or 4"?

I can confirm that the TMNT joysticks are definitely leaf (not sure about Turtles In Time).

If I remember, I'll measure the shafts when I get home tonight.

Yes TMNT were leafs and TIT were Micros... And they are 3.5

Late to the party..

Mine has a k7000 25".

The boards are interchangeable. However it's better to have the Simpsons wiring harness since TMNT is mono (hence the single speaker) the others are stereo.

I believe the list of literal drop in's was:

-Simpsons
-TMNT
-TMNT IT
-Sunset Riders
-Xmen (not 100% on this one)

This video claims that the sound in his Simpsons is hooked up directly to the PCB and therefore, no sound in TMNT -- the sound wires in the harness are removed. Is this typical of a Simpsons cab??
