Simpsons arcade game, any good?

It's fun but tends to get old quick. I just sold my 4 player today, it spent more time sitting than being played so I'm rotating something better in.

It's fun, especially with friends. But, the most fun comes by using a 6-in-1 switcher and finding 5 other 4P beat 'em ups to play in the same cab. That won't get old.

Personally I like alot of the Konami 4P beat'em ups but as people say the genre gets old. Back in the 90s this game was awhole lot of fun and it increased with friends. Right now I just want to collect them but I may sell if I get bored of busting the same guys over and over again(as is the nature of beat'em up games). The game was made after the 1st season and captures all the funny stuff from that stage of the show. I also would not say that this is Konami's best as some of thier later beat'em games are very interesting...

Agreed, I sold mine this past Thursday for the same reason. I had always wanted one and found it for way to cheap to pass up. Fast forward to a year later and it has lost it's fire with the whole family as we have beaten it to many times to count. If its dirt cheap pick it up,keep for awhile, sell for profit later.

Its a great game... I love it... and I agree Ive been gathering konami boards and will be buying a switcher shortly and put them all in my cab!

It's a great game for friends and children. Does tend to get a tad boring after a while, however the cabinet if dedicated is very nice to have as a collectible piece and the soundtrack on the game is cool to keep on in the game-room while others are there.

If you are buying it for yourself, I'd pass for the longetivity factor. However, throughout the year I have lots of various individuals over at the arcade and the Simpsons game ALWAYS has play throughout the day, especially if there are any kids from toddler to teens.

Because it gets constant play by visitiors, it will never leave my arcade. Also people enjoy the ease of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

It's a great party game and the cab is a good one to own. That being said, the game was not designed for home use and as a result it gets old quick AKA little replay value.

If it's cheap get it and then grab a TMNT and Sunset Riders boardset.

Still makes money on location.

Oh definitely, it was designed to draw you in and take your $10 in tokens and leave you feeling with a sense of accomplishment, but little desire to return.

How many times can you play the same game? It's not lie there are any real variables to it.

Both this and Simpsons Bowling are definitely future purchases for my arcade{I'm not 100% certain that I can say likewise for the Data East and Stern pinballs, though}.

As a fan of the show since the beginning{I was only 6 when it debuted}, this game has recieved much play from me over the years.

I've found it in mall-based movie theatres, Chuck E. Cheese's, mall-based arcades, and even the locally-run theme park in my area.

I've almost beaten on a number of occasions, not not quite{I've gotten to the cloud stage once, and I joined some CEC patrons in getting to Mr. Burns...but we didn't beat him}.

It's not like it came home to the NES or SNES like the TMNT games did{and Turtles in Time was also semi-ported to the Sega Genesis, too}. That being said, I even enjoy the various Simpsons console games{despite their odd themes and high difficulty}.

As someone who already owns a 4-Player game , I can attest to the unilateral nature of multi-player beat-em-ups.

Most of my games are actually purchased based on their ability to support more than one player, to be honest.

The reasons given for resale by others in this thread are sensible/admirable, but this'll be a keeper for me once I buy my own.
