For general cleaning of cabinets, does anyone have any thoughts on Zep Purple vs Simple Green Purple?

Also, they both suggest heavily diluting with water. Do you suggest diluting it or using it full strength?

Do you use different products or ratios depending on surface?

For years I would only use simple green, on the last pin restoration I did, the metals had a really bad reaction to it. I won't use it again, at least on metals. Another buddy that does high end pin restorations had a similar problem, changed the finish on his sega door.

As per using different products. I use a variety of cleaning solutions when working with pins, because of the different components.

If it's just some wood or laminate Green will be ok, just don't go too heavy and/or soak. Dilution depends on the grime. I had a Taito Trimline that you could scrape the nicotine off with your nails so I didn't dilute.

409 is a nice solid cleaner for degreasing and all around cleaning. Crazy cleaner foam spray is also a solid.

Lacquer Thinner is great for cleaning off gunk on unpainted metals (DO NOT USE ON PLASTICS)

Unpainted/unscreened plastics foaming glass cleaner (it will take screened ink off)

Screened plastics Novus spray.

Mean green works great and is a lot less harsh than Simple Green. But any degreaser can remove some paint and inks. Be careful.

I used vinegar and then toothpaste to get some watermarks off of a Galaga glass bezel (topside) when no other cleaner would work.
