Never was a fan of Simple Green. One of my tenants recommended something called Mean Green from the dollar store. Best stuff I have ever seen and it's all I use now.

Right here.....Mean Green is BAD ASS.......and does it surprise anyone, cleaners contain toxic chemicals??

Crap... I get this stuff all over my hands while cleaning my cabs (cabs, not cab).

Thanks for the warning... I bought this stuff thinking it was some of the best stuff and perfectly safe (is not in the eyes).

I twice got Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss paint shiner in my eyes... and it didn't hurt a bit. I still washed my eyes though. Brasso is something you DON'T want in your eyes by any means... I was minding my business cleaning my new Genesis... la la wiping off the Brasso... SPLAT

Another good green chemical product that i use to clean all the scum off things at the store is Clorox green works all purpose cleaner.

My wife has recently gone to using the Method brand to clean the bathrooms and kitchen. I've never seen the house dirtier than it currently is now...

Same here. I use Mean Green and I get it at my local Dollar Tree stores.

You should always take precautions with ANY chemical cleaner, no matter what the label says. Wear gloves! That said, I will still use Simple Green if the situation calls for it.

I too always wondered why the concentrated Simple Green came in a spray bottle if you are supposed to dilute it. I hate the smell of Simple Green as well, yuch. I guess I will try Mean Green.

I use far worse chemicals, but with those I always take precautions. Fucking simple green was always sold as being a safe cleaner.

I am going back to just using ammonia, at least that doesn't cause permanent damage. :D

Yeah right... I'm one of those guys who *loves* Magic Erasers and basically all I use to clean things up is water... soapy-water... Magic Erasers... and Windex. :dunno: I haven't found the need for much more.

If you want really fast general cleaning products, commercial ones like Formula 409, Simple Green and Windex clean faster than any soap and water could. This is because they contain small amounts, usually in the range of 2-6 percent, of some members of the most powerful grease-cutting class of chemicals known: the "glycol ethers."

Windex has the same stuff in it. Just mix Ammonia and water if you want Windex.

Edit:
Another of my favorite cleaners has glycol ethers in it too: Greased Lighting.

honestly people need to stop worrying about the little stuff and live their lives. they keep taking all the good stuff off the market and tell us this new stuff is "safe"... as i said before we all die some day.

I don't mind using it, I just don't want to use it in the living areas of the house where the kids are.
