Silverball Mania - First Pin

Got the new 5101 in the mail yesterday, didn't have much time to play it, but - it lives again! Of course, when you fix one thing...

Now the second digit is out on all the displays. However I already figured out that I had flexed the board a little installing the 5101, and it seems I broke another leg on the PIA from hell. As soon as my arcadechips order comes in, I'll get those replaced and have a fully functional machine hopefully! I also tinkered with the one flaky display and figured out that it's a loose connection on the harness plug (I resolderd all molexes on all displays), so the display is good!

Also in regards to a comment I made earlier on the credits and sound settings not following dip switch settings, that was fixed when I fixed the broken legs on the PIA. However it seems to have a wierd issue - it seems to be doing the bonus matching after the next game starts! If the number is 80...once you score up to 80 it'll get you another credit. I think this may also be due to these PIA PIA's as well. The one at U10 is in extremely bad shape, amazing considering how clean and good the board looks!

Anybody have an extra Bally coin box? I dig out the one I had at the garage and it wasn't the right one.

Replaced both pia's as well as the sockets, and its now 100%!! I also more or less re-punched the wires on the flaky display with a pair of needlenose and it seems to be ok now. Played a couple games and scored over a million!!

Prob from all the twitching after grabbing the display while it was still on (duh). Lol.

Crappy cell pic attached with the backglass installed!

Well it was one of the wires - not sure which but it definitely tingled! I've done worse...I touched the collector of a horizontal output once...7k volts tingles a lot more!

I also once had a cap discharge and fuse itself to my palm while I was carrying a small monitor board - that wasn't fun, but man everybody around me thought it was a riot.

Had a few people over the past few days and the pinball has seen a lot of love - its also the first game my dad actually decided to try out. I think he likes it as I found the high score was set yesterday and I know I didn't do it!

However...the problem I was afraid of - the playfield is coming apart! Definitely see some fresh paint chipping off. Any way to save it???
