Okay, we're battling a tough Silent Scope issue.
The gun movement left/right and up/down doesn't seem to work at all.
Both pots check good.
On the small interface board between the main CPU and the gun pots: 12vdc is fine, 5vdc is fine from the voltage regulator that is on the gun board that generates the 5vdc. We've replaced the 74LS07N just to try.
Further investigation shows no clock signal coming from the CPU on the SCLK pin next to +12 going between the main CPU box and the gun board.
With the gun board removed, still no SCLK. Since the SCLK line ties to the digital output pin on the CPU board, it should show up on an oscope. Nothing.
We've tested the wiring all the way through to the connector PCB on the Hornet CPU box, but haven't gone past that yet. Can't find schematics for the Konami Hornet board.
The next course of action of course is to try to find a buffer chip or something that interfaces to the digital out pins on the mainboard side.
Anyone run into this stuff?
