Guy is begging me to pick up the game playing blind for $100.00 cabinet looks really good but I am not sure about picking it up just to part it out since I don't have want or use for it.
Any thoughts?

I would get it. That board may have a dead timekeeper, but you can still play the game. For $100 you can't go wrong...sounds like a monitor issue. But if he's begging you, maybe offer $50?

I loved mine when I had it (silent scope 2 not ex) but I was the only person who played it. Pulled the medium resolution monitor to use in my Cruzin and I replaced it with a LCD and VGA converter before I sold it for $450.

Be aware that unless he has done the time keeper chip it will eventually go down and render the game worthless until replaced ($100-200 fix) so I would buy it for the $100 he wants but I like the game. A lot of people will buy the board because it's an easy upgrade for SS1 or 2. But then you are stuck parting the whole game out cuz it's a worthless cabinet for any other game.

Also be aware that the LCD screen in the gun can be pretty expensive to fix.

Did not know that EX would work with bad time keeper chip.
The LCD monitor in the gun will work without the game CRT working for t is a seperate monitor. You can still play the game but it is a PIA to figure out where the gun is pointed without the big screen to give you a general idea. Sometimes it took me a few minutes on start up to see anything in the scope cuz the start up screen is a lot of black so without the big monitor I could not tell the scope LCD was working until I found a spot with color.

Like I said above you can swap out the main monitor for a cheap LCD screen with a converter and flip the game to someone who wants it for a decent profit if you got it for $100 and put $100 into a LCD with converter. Then you end up with a nice 25in medium resolution monitor that just needs rebuilt plus make a couple hundred dollars and get the game into someone's hands who wants it.
