Working on a Silent Scope 2 game that is giving us an 11P Error which appears to be a pre-programmed battery backed up ram chip.

Can somebody make one of these? Just not sure what's involved in programming one and rather just buy one to fix this board.

Anthony

Anybody know anything about this? Or know somebody who can repair this for a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Anthony

The code is in mame (sscopea.zip). It is a M48T58Y-70PC1 chip. Mouser, Jameco, and digi-key all stock it. If you dont have an eeprom burner, I can burn one for you. I think I have 1 or 2 more left around. PM me if you need one.

I just sent my boards with the same issue to this guy, http://www.irepairsega.com/ he was very easy to deal with and reasonably priced IMO.
Ive heard the same on him. Its an easy enough job to do, provided you have the right tools to desolder and socket that chip. The traces are small, so its a bit of a tough one if you dont have a desoldering gun.

i bought the same chip for my konami racing jam from silentninja and it worked great...the soldering on this one isn't for beginners and i definitely needs to be socketed...i did mine myself and 2 others...let me know if you need it done

Ping Porchy.

The SS game is supposed to be easy to resurrect while SS2 does a checksum on the NVRAM and is harder to resurrect.
