Side Project - DK Cabaret Build

Base and floor completed. Now I can finally start building the insides and then attach the outsides. This is going to be a slow project with updates as I have time to get them done.

As simple as it seems I am always impressed with your Nintendo cab base builds.

Keep up the good work!

I need to use this as inspiration to get my projects completed.

Go Phet, go! Go Phet go!

10 days......

You really need it back in 10 days? Or is that just when we're meeting up? If you really need it back I'll need to tranquilize my wife and kids and finish all the small interior pieces while they're out cold. I just started on them and there's at least 30 to copy.

BTB, you can see I used 3" dolly wheels rather than the standard 2.5" wheels. I did this because of the extra height of the leg levelers. With the 2.5" wheels, the cab had to be tilted back extra far for the dolly wheels to 'grab'. This causes the back of the base to have to pivot on the ground and wears the paint off and eventually starts biting into the wood over time (unless you never tilt and move it).

Back door is cut and painted, just need to add the interior cord cove pieces:

Very cool man, nice work. I used to not like Nintendo cabarets but after seeing your progress and the threads on your DK, I want one! :)

They are mighty sweet. Today I get to pull the mask on the interior of the side pieces to see how the black paint turned out. Can Not Wait.

Hey, thanks! How are you doing by the way? This project is dedicated to you.
Thanks! :) I'm doing pretty good all things considered. I just started chemo and radiation treatments this week and should be returning to work soon. I've kept my spirits up for the most part, but I have had my moments. The hobby has been a good distraction for me as well and gives me something else to think about.

Does that mean you are going to stain and poly the sides? That is exciting!

Huh? Why would I do that? Stain? Who am I? A secret Angry Amish Asshole who drives an ox-drawn cart with a Garmin installed so I can find my way to the next barn raising? Do you think I make my own nails too? Stain he says.
