Got out today to hit up some bars and try to find the attack from mars I know the local amusement company has. First bar I hit there AFM was. It was the saddest thing I had ever seen. The playfield was so dirty you could not see the PF artwork. Bolts were sticking out, lights out all over, flippers weak as hell, switches all messed up, and even dust bunnies in the chutes. I only had my phone so no pics, but I will go back and get some. Talked with a guy from the local amusement company and he said they might be selling the AFM this year. I sooooo need to get it away from those bastards. It need someone to love it and care for it.

Soooo anyways. Played a Family Guy for the first time and was absolutely stunned to see it is exactly the same as Shrek. Was in the same condition as the AFM BTW. Played the Shrek for the first time a few weeks back up in Omaha and it got pretty boring after the first game. Was bummed with the Family Guy as well. Those mini pinballs are cute as heck though.

Yep, it's the same game with a different theme.

Sad story about that AFM. I'd really love to find one to rescue as that's the only way you'd get it for a good price, I feel.

Hoping $1500 for it. Will contact them in the next few days.

So Jar155, I have a question for you. On your site, which is awesome BTW, you were cleaning that Taxi in one of your videos and used a polishing pad with a drill. I have hit up a few stores, even a Home Depot, and can't seem to find anything comparable. Might you have some info on where I can pick one up?

Actually Shrek is the same as Family Guy, haha. Shrek is a re-branded Family Guy machine.

NBA is also just a re-branded Sega Space Jam.

Shrek/family guy are not very good games but I do like the mini playfield. Unfortunatley it is the most commonly broken thing on those games.

Here's a good source for them and some extra pads: http://pinrestore.com/PolishingKits.html

Opinions on Lawlor's games are relative to amount spent.

For instance, Rarehero is basing his opinion on a $3k + or so purchase. Most of us base our opinion on a $1-$2 purchase. ;)

Actually I didn't spend anything, other than the time it took to draw. :)

In any case, if you go by www.pinballreviews.com, RGP, ipdb, the game is generally well reviewed and respected. It's out of production and demand is high. I'd had the game for almost 3 years, and I still find it fun and challenging. Granted, mine is clean w/ white rubber, back legs up high, plays fast and works 100% ...those who've played it on route may have a different opinion based on the circumstances of that particular location game.

I think CSI is much better than FG or shrek so I guess its just different opinions. Like most dont like wheel of fortune but I thought it was a nice change from the usual. Although quite frustrating at times.

I like WOF, too...even though I sold it. To be fair I haven't played CSI ....I'd like to...but I think Stern only made like 10 of them! ;)

By "last best" you must mean "last not horrible"?

Wade

Shrek/FG are great. As far as Lawlor goes, I much prefer Addams Family, Twilight Zone, and Funhouse, but the man has shown a lot of talent for creating unique features and toys, such as the mini pinball on Shrek/FG.
