i think this ones in detroit. when i worked auto theft i would pass a place that looked just like this one, for the life of me i cant recall the street but i always wanted to stop and look inside to see if anything was left behind. it caught my eye because of the pac man painting

Hey stingray2309... That could be anywhere in Detroit...

Amazing. The photo of the two Stargates together reminded me of how Seattle Center used to have at least 8 Dig Dug machines next to each other. I had completely forgotten about that until now. Completely. Forgotten.

So sick... Thanks for scanning those. I know how much work it is. I have finally been getting back into updating my site, so I will be sure to add these to my vintage arcade scans.

"DO NOT CUT SCHOOL TO BE HERE!"

I love that one! Too bad they didn't have it at arcades near my house growing up... or at least in all the years I never read it or remembered seeing it!

I'm going to have one of these made for my home arcade... too classic. The more I think about it, the more I want to put tons of signs in my house! Not signs of everything, but arcade related. Seems as though when I step into an arcade there's alot of reading to be done!

Any London old school gamers here?

I grew up in England from 74-83 and lived in the London arcades during the video game craze. My favorite and the best was one in Piccadilly Circus. Small entrance but went into a huge cavern of a place. Arcades over there have fruit machines and arcade games.

Memories include walls of Missile Commands (7-10) and any other new games when they hit.

Of course I wasted a lot of money on the fruit machines or 'nudgies'. Anyone else remember any London arcades?

Another one we used to go to was a small one halfway to Leicester Sq from Piccadilly, across the street from The Swiss Center. Then there were a few in Leicester Sq but these seemed to come and go. The Piccadilly arcade was there until they built that indoor mall with Madame Tussauds or whatever else they put in there.

I love this wall. The guy sucks, but the space mural is the bees knees:

the local chain out here was Spaceport and all their early
stores (pre-1986) had a greyscale moonscape mural in the
back. real nasa type stuff. looked awesome.
the uniform was a dark blue jumpsuit with american
flag shoulder patch and a nasa-like logo patch on front,
similating an expendable crewman of a starship...

the awesome training "video" :

most of these are before my time of remembering, but what are the big numbers on the wall for? some kind of wierd decorations or did they stand for something?

i stopped by my childhood arcade about a month ago. all that was left was a closed closed door with some hair product crap in front of the door.

Is Frizz in the Monaco GP? I thought he was arrested fer running his *service* in public places. This dude must a been last in line before the big bust.

Ah, yes, that was Frizz little pleasure cove.

If you look on the wall, the giant #'s were actually the order in which he "serviced" you. The guy waiting was actually #13, and shown by being lit up on the wall. Frizz could average about 20 a day though, so beings he was #13, I would say it was only about 2:30pm in this pic.
