Nice pics !!!!

That one of the Atari 2600 competition reminds me.... I played the Dutch final round for the Atari World championships in 1983. The game was Centipede and I hated it (because of the whacky control with joystick) Funny thing is I haven't played a real Centipede yet (even though one's in my shed right now)...

I became 4th in under 18's (yes I was still young then....sighhhhh) and got.....an Atari bag and a certificate. I hope it's still at my parents' !!!

I have a huge stash of arcade photos, the problem will be posting them all here, because there are thousands, some that I took myself but some that I gathered from the web.

I will start with a photo of Sega Hang On and Outrun cockpits taken sometimes in the 1980s, this was a random web find:

I thought that's where I seen that place. Was that on Michigan Ave. Or like the Warren dale area? Fenkel, etc. I know it's west side somewhere.

Did you click on it?

Hey Sara, if you want you can email me any pics and I can host them for you.

newbie question... How do I post a picture on the blog without having a website or a link?

This is documented in the FAQ link at the top....

Basically, get a free account at an image hosting site like Photobucket, upload photos to it, then use the URL address in the properties of the pic as a link for an image placeholder here...

You have to click on the picture to make it bigger, the picture is only a thumbnail.

Thanks for the offer bret but I have plenty of photo hosting, I haven't even filled up my flickr account yet and its only a free account, you can upload a certain amount of pics every month too.

I just have so many pics stashed on my computer and so many unsorted pictures that I have to get around to sorting the unsorted pictures.

I scanned these years ago. This arcade was in San Francisco right by the Golden Gate Bus Terminal (hence the name). I spent many quarters on Food Fight in the back corner.

These same pics are being displayed on the first page of this thread, along with others.

I think what Jean is saying is that he scanned the Fun Terminal pics I posted. Jean, isn't this from a record?

Wasn't being disrespectful, I was just mentioning that they had already been referred to, as the way Jean had brought them up and posted them again seemed to say that he hadn't noticed.

Anyway to make this thread sticky? Would be cool to give anyone who visits a chance to dig up their photos and post.

I like that one. You can tell a classic arcade was in a truly high-traffic area when they have multiples of the same game. I think I can make out 3 Defenders, 2 Stargates, 2 Tempests, and at least 1 Turbo.

Of course I noticed... I'm quoting Brett's post. I just replied to the pictures themselves so people wouldn't have to jump back to the first page to know what pics/arcade I'm referring to.

I forget the name of the band, but yeah, it's the front and back of a record sleeve. That arcade was rad. The ones are market were cool and the best was at Pier 39 where they had an entire Pac-Man room and every game imaginable (3 quantums too).

Well, Jean, what kind of music do you play? I don't like to assume, but I take it you are a guitarist. I was the lead singer of a local rock band here in MN called Fetish. I have a few copies left of our debut CD if you'd like to check it out sometime.
