There have been a number of people who have built beautiful (and not so beautiful) custom cabs, so let's see them!

Also, it would be great to hear about people selling plans/parts/art/cp's/whatever to help the rest of us make/restore our own...

Here's my W.I.P. currently stuck in a holding pattern, I'm stumped as to what Nintendo game theme I should go for at this point. (I was thinking a dedicated Castlevania, because I do know it will be DK red.)

I just felt the need to bump this thread.

I love these custom minis.

I've wanted to build a mini Galaga forever now. I'm inspired! Too bad I don't have any wood working tools/skills.

I missed this last time around. That mini Nintendo cab is a thing of beauty. Nice work.

By the end of the summer I should have a few new cabaret machines finished. I'm currently working on a dedicated Dr. Mario cabaret. I am still working on some small construction changes in CAD before I build it. I am really excited about it. I will be running a couple of extra Nintendo mini cabs for more games as well just because they look sweet. Once it is programmed in the CNC, cutting more is a pretty simple.

I see that you live in McHenry. I am actually pretty close to you. Maybe I'll have to run an extra cabinet for you. :)

Everytime I see that DKJr mini cabinet that Phet made, I wish I had more time to work on my games! That custom artwork is just perfect.

bump this shit up.

@Phetishboy that DKjr cab is fucking hot!!! nice work.

I had some fun raping an 8 liner and playing with jamma switching on the cheap. Obviously includes JROK board, art from TOG (front art is cut vinyl from another source) and with a handful of relays and some crafty wiring I can switch between JROK and mame pc on the fly from a switch on the front of the machine.

good day.

I dunno if I said it in another thread, but that 8 liner is slick. I've been looking for a cheapo one to shamelessly copy your idea.
Thanks. It was a thread of some dude looking for multiwilliams cab ideas or something. At that time it was still just a mame cab :p finally was able to snag a jrok board and figure out the switching.

good day.

There are sooooo many 8-liners out there. It would be great if people were making more art and cp's specifically for converting them to fun games. It makes me want to make a bunch of games that never had cabarets (like Pepper II)

That's a damn fine set up, nice and clean.

Here's my custom MAME mini, technically a conversion since the cabinet began life as a custom built (not by me) cabinet to house one of those little Jakks plug-and-play joysticks.

I still plan on installing a new CPO since it started out with the big gouge and I've been reworking the Galaga design into something that better fits the custom control setup. Hope to have that printed and installed sometime this year. Then it'll be "done." Hell, I have the back door right next to me as I installed some circulation fans on the backside of it today. The cabinet itself is currently stored at my parent's house as I don't have the space for it, small as it is.

Also reminds me I REALLY need to update my page about the cabinet as I've done a lot since last update.

I have an actual Zaxxon Mini japanese/euro cab. The monitor(that I had to have fixed the first time) has been giving me crap lately. I'm about 2 shakes from converting it to a mini Tempest. If it wasn't so rare and a dedicated, and the only Sega in my collection, I'd have done started the conversion....but an UR Tempest is so pretty to start with, it just seems a waste all the way around.
